K-8

Building Skills, Confidence, and Character—Year by Year

About Our K–8 Program

Bay Pines Lutheran School is committed to academic excellence and Christian character formation for every student in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our degreed teachers foster a disciplined, nurturing, and safe environment where students grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. In partnership with families, we equip children with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to thrive as responsible, caring individuals and leaders in a diverse, technology-driven world.

Curriculum

Our K–8 curriculum aligns with the expectations of the Florida Department of Education while integrating faith and Biblical truth into every subject. Students are encouraged not only to meet state standards, but to use their God-given gifts to achieve their highest potential. Instruction is delivered through high-quality textbooks, hands-on learning, and technology-enhanced tools such as Chromebooks and Smartboard-enabled classrooms.

Our curriculum includes:

  • Religion – Christ-centered education using the Christ Light series, with lessons rooted in Scripture and applied to daily life.
  • Language Arts – Comprehensive instruction in reading, phonics, writing, spelling, grammar, and oral expression to build strong communication skills.
  • Mathematics – A traditional, cumulative approach emphasizing computation, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding.
  • Technology – Chromebook-based blended learning, computer literacy, and Smartboard-integrated lessons beginning in Kindergarten.
  • Science – Hands-on investigations in physical, earth, and life sciences that highlight God’s design in creation.
  • Social Studies – World cultures, history, geography, civics, economics, and current events, fostering critical thinking and responsible citizenship.
  • Music – Music theory, singing, appreciation, and public performances; choir available for grades 3–8.
